2009 Garden Show Inspiration

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Jane, Claire and Kristi. It was a perfectly beautiful day to enjoy Council's Christmas flower show and tea.
One of the beautiful specimens winning one of the larger ribbons.
A lyrical design featuring broken shards of mirror.
This arrangement makes me wanna say, "get down boogie woogie". I think it was titled "Colors of Peace" or something like that.
Elegant candlestick arrangements in silver and gold!
A frame arrangement. Really nice. Unfortunately some of the blossoms had wilted by the time I took the pic.
Here are three magnificent variegated ginger leaf specimens. Yours truly won first. You didn't expect me to post a pic of my third place arrangement did you?
Breath taking orchids!
....and breath taking scenery in the botanical gardens on a crisp December day.
The majestic giants of the garden! Oh how beautiful.

Gardens of the Month

Member Award
Mary Beth's garden is beautiful this fall with seasonal bedding plants and fall pumpkins and wreaths! The colors really pop, and I'm certain her neighbors appreciate the view when driving by or taking a stroll.

Civic Award
The Belle Chasse Methodist Church really outdid themselves with their new bed in the front garden. The new palms make a nice focal point and the brick path replacing the grass strip will keep the front bed looking tidy and improve maintenance time. Thanks to the Belle Chasse Methodist Church family for helping Plaquemine's Parish look it's best!

The residential community award will be posted soon.
